185,000 unemployed youth to access CBN loans nationwide ― Argungu

THE Director General, National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Dr Nasiru Mohammed Ladan Argungu, has revealed that 185, 000 unemployed persons are to benefit from the Central Bank of Nigeria Agri-Business Small and Medium Enterprise Investment Scheme (AGSMEIS).
The beneficiaries, who are young artisans expected to be the next generational cosmetology product producers, fashion designers, farmers, electricians, computer operators among others. They will go through the multiplier effect creation of several thousand other jobs to enhance the nation’s economy.
Argungu, who made the revelation while speaking at the orientation exercise of the newly recruited trainees in Nasarawa State on Wednesday, urging the youth in the State to take this opportunity at their doorsteps to help their families.
The Director, who spoke through Alhaji Dauda Idris, added that  the directorate had recently “empowered over 20,000 cosmetology trained women across the 6 Geo-political zones of the country.
“Also concluded plans to immediately empower over eleven thousand micro businesses with ten thousand Naira each under the micro Enterprise Enhancement Scheme (MEES). All in the interest to reduce the high rate of unemployment and poverty bedeviling the the country.
Also speaking on behalf of the state coordinator of NDE, Rotgak G Goar, thanked the Director General for the various schemes implemented nationwide to better the lives of many helpless young persons.
He said: “Today’s orientation exercise is meant to expose 450 participants of NDE’s National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (B- NOAS), Advanced National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (A-NOAS), Sustainable Agricultural Development Scheme (SADTS) and Environmental Beautification Training Scheme (EBTS) to the advantages, rules, regulations, code of conduct and conditions governing the different training schemes.”
Advising them to be the most serious beneficiaries of these schemes that would transform their lives, urging them to make the best use of the opportunity and lives up to dreams expectations.
