Seven cabinet members of the Ogun State Executive Council, on Monday, resigned their various appointments to pursue their political ambitions ahead of the general elections while one of them resigned her position for national assignment.
Those who resigned for political reasons were the former Commissioners for Agriculture, Mrs. Peju Adebajo; Mr. Leke Adewolu (Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs); Mr. Kola Lawal (Forestry); Mr. Dayo Adeneye (Information and Strategy); Mrs. Modupe Mujota (Education, Science and Technology) and the Director-General, Bureau of Lands and Survey, Mr. Biyi Ismail.
While the former Commissioner for Urban and Physical Planning, Mrs Ronke Sokefun resigned her appointment to take up a new assignment, as the Chairman, Board of Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).

The former cabinet members, in their separate speeches, thanked the governor for giving them the opportunity to serve and also noted the cordial working relationship with other members of the cabinet.
They unanimously commended the governor for providing good governance to the people of the state, particularly in addressing the security challenge that confronted it at inception of his administration.
Amosun in his valedictory remarks during the State Executive Council meeting, appreciated them for their selfless services to the state as well as their support to his administration.
He said their contributions were significant to the achievements of his administration’s Mission to Rebuild Ogun State, wishing them success in their future endeavours.
