National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Director General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim
17 NYSC Corps members of the Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 2020/2021 deployed to Kebbi State for their service year are to repeat their entire service year, while 7 others got an extension of their service by six months.
The State Coordinator of NYSC, Mustapha Mohammed disclosed this at the presentation of Certificates to passing out members in Birnin-Kebbi, Thursday.
In a related development, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier-General Ibrahim Shaibu has taken Gender Sensitization and advocacy to some selected Secondary Schools and Primary schools in the rural community of the State.
The NYSC boss who was represented by the Assistant Director, Deployment and Relocation, Mrs Bernice Ogbolu stated that advancing gender equality is critical to all areas of healthy society from reducing poverty to promising health, education, protection and wellbeing of girls and boys.
The grassroots gender sensitization and advocacy campaign which took place simultaneously in the rural communities across the Northern States, according to him, is a well thought out initiative of the reform unit of the NYSC which is implemented on the platform of the Corps Gender Vanguards with the aim of exposing the ills of gender-based violence.
While thanking the NYSC Director-General and the NYSC Kebbi State, for choosing the Kardi community to flagg off the programme, the District Head of Kardi, Alhaji Ahmadu Kardi expressed gratitude for the gesture done to them.
40 Students from two Secondary Schools and 40 Pupils from two Primary Schools were invited for the programme from Government Day Secondary School, Kardi, Government Science College, Kardi, Aliyu Musa Model Primary School, Kardi and Muhammad Abubakar Model Primary School, Kardi respectively.
