In an unprecedented academic achievement, two students of the Redeemer’s University, Felix-Ibe Favour and Kehinde Anjolaoluwa both from the Department of Psychology, emerged as the overall best-graduating students, each achieving an outstanding CGPA of 4.96.
This marks the first time in the history of Redeemer’s University—and all private universities in Nigeria—that two students have tied for the highest CGPA.
Redeemer’s University celebrated a remarkable milestone during its 2024 convocation, graduating a total of 1,440 students, comprising 1,055 undergraduates and 385 postgraduates. Among the postgraduates, 33 earned PhDs, 217 received master’s degrees, and 135 were awarded postgraduate diplomas.
The Vice Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, in his address, expressed his joy and gratitude, saying, “As the Vice Chancellor, I stand before you today with a heart of gratitude to God for His grace and favor. We celebrate the triumph of perseverance, faith, and learning in this extraordinary moment—graduating the More Than Conqueror set.
“Today, we are not just celebrating a combination of academic success; we are bearing witness to lives that have been transformed with faith and knowledge. This institution has been a nurturing ground for the mind, body, and spirit. And today, we are glad to send our graduates to become transformative leaders and ambassadors of hope, equipped not just for the challenges of today but as more than conquerors for tomorrow.”
The convocation also celebrated 86 first-class graduates, boosted by two distinctions from the Nursing Department, alongside 434 second-class upper students and 317 second-class lower honorees.
Additionally, this year marked the first cohort of graduates from the Architecture, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering programs, making the 16th convocation a significant moment in the university’s history.
