The State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Segun Agbaje, on Tuesday, said about 16,723 personnel will participate in the forthcoming November 26 governorship election in the state.
Agbaje, who dropped the hints, also disclosed that the commission will publish the list of nominated candidates and the number of official voters in the state.
According to him, the electoral body is working in compliance with the relevant sections of the electoral acts, quoting section 34 of the 2010 Electoral Acts (as amended).
Agbaje explained that the electoral acts provide that INEC should publish the list of all nominated candidates by political parties not less than 30 days before the day of an election.
He said section 20 of the Electoral Act, 2010 (as amended) empowered the commission to publish the official register of voters for an election not less than 30 days before the election.
The REC gave the breakdown of the 16,723 personnel who will participate in the election to include; one Returning Officer, 18 Local Government Collation Officers, 203 Registration Area Collation Officers, 301 Supervisory Presiding Officers, 3,010 Presiding Officers and 11,103 Assistant Presiding Officers (I, II and III)
Others include 1,321 Assistant Presiding Officers, 621 Reserve Assistant Presiding Officers, 19 Local Government Area Supervisors and 126 Registration Area Cluster Supervisors.
