The competition saw a display of superb music talent from the artistes who qualified from the quarter final in Ado-Ekiti. The five Fuji and five Juju artistes, as well as six drummers will now progress to the final stage to compete for the grand prize of N2 million each for Juju and Fuji category winners, while the winner in traditional drummer category wins N1m.
One of the Judges Dr Adebayo Faleke of Fresh FM, Ibadan, expressed his delight at the level of talent displayed by the artistes, especially as it showed the mentoring and grooming they went through under the tutelage of music producers and experienced musicians.
Faleke commended Nigerian breweries and Goldberg for the Ariya Repete initiative as it will go a long way in preserving the cultural heritage of the Yoruba.
Just as in the quarter-finals in Ado-Ekiti where the audience were treated to beautiful performances of Fuji and Juju music by frontline musicians including Sir Shina Peters, Abolore Akande popularly called 9ice and the Ibadan-based Fuji Sensation Taye Currency who performed for three straight hours much to the delight of the raving Ado-Ekiti music fans, Lagos residents got even a bigger dose of great music as ace musicians like Adewale Ayuba, Adekunle Gold, Taye Currency, Saheed Osupa and Sir Shina Peters all performed to the delight of the audience.
The grand finale event, which will bring the city alive as it will play host top musicians and fans to witness the final performances of the contestants.
