A 15-year-old girl, identified as Miracle Ogbonna, has died of electrocution in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
It was gathered that the incident happened on Sunday, while the victim had gone to fetch water in a well in their Olomore Housing Estate residence.
The case, according to the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Omolola Odutola, was incidented at the Lafenwa Police Station by Onyekachi Silas.
The deceased teenager, according to Silas, was his brother’s wife young sister residing with them.
According to the complainant, there was a power outage at the time the victim had gone to fetch water from the well, while in the course of fetching the water, power was restored.
The teenager was said to have been electrocuted by a naked cable wire of the pumping machine imbedded in the well.
However, she was confirmed dead after being taken to an hospital in the town.
Odutola said, investigation into the incident had commenced, while the remains of the victim had been deposited at a morgue in the town.
