15 ships discharging petroleum products, other commodities in Lagos ports

Fifteen ships are currently discharging petroleum products and other commodities at Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports in Lagos, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), said on Friday.

NPA explained that 15 ships are at the ports discharging general cargoes, buck wheat, bulk fertiliser, bulk gas, bulk rice, base oil, containers, empty containers and petrol.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 24 ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive Lagos ports between July 7 and July 19.

NPA said that the expected ships would ferry into the country, buck wheat, bulk sugar, base oil, bulk salt, containers, bulk charcoal, bulk gypsum and petrol.

NAN reports that 25 ships were expected on July 4.

The document noted that seven ships had arrived the ports, waiting to berth with petrol, buck wheat, frozen fish and empty containers.
