13 suspected bandits from Kano arrested in Ekiti

No fewer than 13 persons suspected to be bandits were on Friday arrested in Emure-Ekiti, Emure local government area of Ekiti State by people of the community.

Saturday Tribune gathered that the suspects who wielded dangerous weapons were said to be from Kano State.

Residents of the community who observed their strange movements and faces raised the alarm which led to their subsequent arrest by the police.

Confirming the arrest to our correspondent, the  State’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Abutu said the suspects claimed to be hunters from Kano state.

“I can confirm that with the help of the people of that community, we arrested these people about 13 of them who said they were hunters from Kano state.

“From their explanations so far, they told us their here for hunting business. They are still being interrogated by our men,” the PPRO said.

He confirmed that 14 locally fabricated dane guns and 10 dogs were recovered from them.
