13 political parties accept Ondo election results, back Gov Aiyedatiwa

Candidates of political parties that participated in last Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo state, on Friday, said they have accepted the outcome of the results and expressed their readiness to work with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to build a new Ondo state.

The candidates who met with Aiyedatiwa alongside their party chairmen, at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Akure, the state capital, pledged their support for the administration of Aiyedatiwa in the interest and development of the state.

The political parties numbering 13 said they had accepted the outcome of the governorship election and urged the governor to extend hand of fellowship to other political parties who contested against him.

The political parties represented at the meeting were Accord (A), Action Alliance (AA), Allied Peoples Movement (APM), New Nigeria People’s Party ( NNPP), All People’s Party (APP), African Democratic Party (ADP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Labour Party (LP), Youth Party (YP), Young People’s Party (YPP), Boot Party (BP) and the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).

Responding, Governor Aiyedatiwa appreciated the candidates and party chairmen for pledging to support his administration, noting that their support would not be taken for granted.

He stated that the development of the state has become a collective duty for all and required all stakeholders to come together and contribute meaningfully towards the development of the State.

Aiyedatiwa promised that his administration will continue to run an inclusive governance that will not discriminate against any political party.
