Four died in auto crash along Makurdi/Gboko road

Four persons were  killed in Friday afternoon in an auto crash that occurred along Makurdi/Gboko highway.

An eyewitness told our correspondent  that the accident which occurred around 2 pm involved a passenger Picnic bus and a RAV 4 Jeep at Tiortyu village along Makurdi -Gboko highway.

Though, the cause of the accident could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report but eyewitness said that the vehicles were coming in opposite direction.

Four persons were said to have died on the spot, two of the victims were said to be from the RAV 4 Jeep, the driver and a little boy in the front seat survived.

The other two victims were from the passenger bus while others were said to have been seriously injured.

When contacted on phone, Benue  State Commander,  Federal Road Safety Corp, FRSC, Mr David Mienyague confirmed the accident.

He said that he could not give details of what happened until his men who had gone on rescue return.

“I can not  say anything now until those that went on rescue come back”, Mienyangye said.
