108 students battle for 2018 Cowbellpedia prize

A total of 108 secondary school students from across the country who scaled through the first round from a total of 41,735 students in this year’s edition of Cowbellpedia Mathematics TV Quiz Show are set for the second stage of the competition.

The competition, organised and sponsored by Cowbell, the flagship brand from the stable of Promasidor Nigeria Limited, will take participants at both the junior and senior categories through the preliminary, semi-final and final rounds where the best  three will emerge in each category.

This will last for 13 weeks.

The managing director of Promasidor Nigeria, Mr. Anders Einarsson, who made the disclosure in a press release in Lagos, said three perfect scores were recorded in the qualifying examinations from two schools in the junior category.

He gave their names as Favour Okarike and Benny Sampson, both of Graceland International School, Port Harcourt and Chiedozie Okezie Uzochukwu of Nigerian Tulip International College, Abuja.

He noted that the ultimate winner in each of the categories would be rewarded with N2 million and an all-expense-paid educational excursion abroad, while the first and second runners-up would receive N1.5 million and N1 million respectively.

Their teachers will receive N500,000; N400,000 and N300,000 according to their efforts and positions.

Einarsson, however, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the project, saying that was what informed doubling the prize money for the winning students and as part of the ways to mark the 20th anniversary of the relationship between the Cowbell Milk and the promotion of mathematics studies by the company.
