$100,000 funding opportunity at fintech bootcamp for African, Asian entrepreneurs

DFS Lab,  an early-stage incubator that supports high potential entrepreneurs refine, grow, and launch fintech businesses in developing wcountries and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation are calling on African and Asian entrepreneurs to apply and attend a fintech bootcamp in April 27.

The event will a group of group of purpose-driven, smart, dynamic people entrepreneurs building innovative products, services and technologies for low-income consumers.

At the bootcamp, the entrepreneurs will use the Design Sprint Methodology, a process of structured ideation and prototyping for answering critical business questions, to go through a workshop to design, prototype and test new ideas. Rapid prototyping and UI/UX mockup support will be available on site, the organisers said on their website.

According to information reaching Entrepreneurship+ the high-intensity programme will provide selected entrepreneurs with the “very best hands-on support and guidance from top flight mentors to help bring your idea to life.”

In addition to that, the best ideas will receive grant funding of up to $100,000 and six months of additional support from the DFS Lab.

The bootcamp programme will run for five days and will include flights, healthy meals, and accommodation, among others.

The programme coordinator are looking for small and nimble teams of world class entrepreneurs, engineers, product managers, or other brilliant people who want to build digital services for millions of users.

“You have deep expertise in fintech, payments, or retail finance and a strong desire to work in developing countries. You dream of creating financial products that will serve the needs of billions of low income consumers in developing countries.

“We are looking for two-person teams who wish to launch a company or very early stage startups with less than $100,000 investment to date who wants to send two co-founders to our bootcamp.

“Your startup’s vision should be to create an innovative new technology to address one of DFS Lab’s priority areas. Please have a founder or co-founder fill out the application,” organisers added.
