CHAIRMAN, Board of Trustees, Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Mr Paul Adelabu, on Monday, said the 10 million disabled persons with Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) will vote for the return of President Muhammadu Buhari for another four years term in Saturday’s presidential election.
Adelabu premised the support on the recent decision of Buhari to sign the disability bill into law, which he said had given persons living with disabilities the right to demand for the best opportunities in all spheres of life.
Noting the failure of past Presidents to assent to the disability bill, Adelabu said the disabled persons henceforth planned to celebrate Buhari every January 23rd, in commemoration of January 23, 2018, that Buhari signed the disability bill into law.
Adelabu stated this at an endorsement of Buhari’s re-election by over 50 support groups of the South West, held at Mapo Hall, Ibadan.
Speaking further, he said Buhari having shown commitments to changing the lives of disabled persons for the better, by signing the disabilities bill, was deserving of the votes of Nigerians.
The event which featured a loud endorsement of Buhari/Osinbajo for a second term in office by over 50 support groups, had in attendance, Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole; South West Director of Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organisation, Mr Olusola Oke; Executive Assistant to Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Political Matters, Dr Morounkola Thomas among others.
Speaking, Oke urged the people of the South West to utilise their 16 million voting strength to ensure that the zone maintains the prime position gained under the Buhari led government.

Oke posited that the Buhari had shown his commitment to the upliftment of the South West by according the zone key positions in government up to Vice Presidential position, as well as making the South West benefit from federal government’s investment in agriculture, roads, rail, power and employment generation.
He described as lies from the opposition notions that Buhari planned to Islamise Nigeria if reelected, maintaining that Buhari meant well for the South West and Nigeria at large.
Adewole, in his remarks, said the Yorubas had benefited tremendously from the Buhari governance in Agriculture, youth employment, developmental projects which should be reciprocated with votes for another four years term.
Among others, Adewole said Buhari planned to expand rail services beyond Lagos-Ibadan down to all states of the South West.
Declaring that Buhari loved Yorubas, he warned them against falling victim of plans by the opposition to take away the Vice Presidential position from the zone.
Speaking, Morounkola said Oyo state will provide the highest votes for Buhari in the South West in Saturday’s presidential election.
