‎Buhari’s government, a disaster, calamity to Nigerians ― Ondo ADC Chairman

THE Ondo State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress(ADC), Hon Bishop Ogungbemi, on Sunday, described the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Muhammadu Buhari – led government as a disaster and a huge calamity on the people of the country.
Ogungbemi who stated this in Oka -Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area of the state, during the official flag off of the party’s 2019 campaign in the North Senatorial district of the state said Buhari has failed woefully in his primary responsibility which is to ensure the security of Nigerians.

The ADC chairman said that the Buhari led federal government had performed far below expectations of Nigerians in the last three years, especially in the area of economy and security.

He noted the government brought more hardship to Nigerians, saying  Buhari has lost the trust the people had in him when they cast their votes for him in 2015 and called on Nigerians voters to reject Buhari and APC government at the poll in 2019.

He stated that ADC was determined to end insecurity in the land by providing employment opportunities to the youth, noting that unemployment was the major cause of kidnapping,  insurgency, armed robbery and other evil acts in the country.

Ogungbemi said; “The government of President Buhari is a calamity, it is woe to Nigerians. We cannot remember this government and be happy because the situation is becoming unbecoming. Nigerians are being massacred on daily basis.

“I was abducted a few days ago where I spent four days in the bush. Are we going to continue to celebrate this kind of government?

This is a terrible government and we must put an end to it in 2019. God on our side, we will take over.

“This is a party that belongs to the masses, a party for the downtrodden, a party that says no to incessant killings in Nigeria and a party that thinks about the future of a younger generation.”

He also described the present government in the state as clueless saying that governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s government was a monumental failure, but expressed optimism that the ADC would form the next government in the state to turn around the state.

The Senatorial candidate of the party for Ondo North district, Mr Jide Ipinsagba expressed confidence that he would win the Senatorial contest as a result of the level of support from the people in the area.

He said voters in the district believed in his capability to deliver the desired dividends of democracy and said ADC has come to bridge the gap between poor and the rich and to usher unprecedented development to the state.

On his part,  the ADC House of representatives candidate for Akoko South East/South West Federal constituency, Dare Emiola,
said the party remains a party to beat in all elections in the area and the state.

Emiola, a former deputy speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly promised to attract government attention to the area if elected in 2019.
