The Managing Director of M778, Mr Lekan Lawal has said the decision of the agency to throw its weight behind the current Mrs. Nigeria, Tarere Obaigbo, was informed by the need to help the beauty queen realize her dreams and also showcase the Nigerian brand to the world.
Speaking at the unveiling of Mrs. Obaigbo, as the nation’s representative at the Mrs. World beauty competition, holding in January, 2022, to the media, in Lagos, recently, Lawal argued that a lot of false narratives are being peddled about the country, its citizens and even the African continent.
He, therefore, expressed the belief that supporting Mrs. Obaigbo at the forthcoming competition, would go a long way in changing such ugly narratives.
“The situation currently in the country has not been palatable, with negative stories flying around everyday. This Nigeria/Mrs World project for us, is one of those worthy causes that can help change the narrative at least for once,” he added.
On the attraction for Mrs World, the brand management specialist noted that the competition is quite a deviation from the regular norm for beauty pageants; since it is about celebrating womanhood, building legacy and responsibility.
Speaking shortly after being presented to the media, Obaigbo, popularly known as Oreime, expressed her determination to give a quality representation at the world stage.
“I believe I am a purpose -driven individual, whose main focus is making the society a better place through advocacy for environmental sustainability and empowerment programs,” she stated.
