NLC celebrates appointment of member as Permanent secretary in Zamfara

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Zamfara State has celebrated the appointment of its member, Comrade Sani Abubakar Bukkuyum, who was appointed as Permanent Secretary by Governor Dauda Lawal in the state.

Until his appointment as Permanent Secretary, Comrade Bukkuyum was the Chairman, National Union of Public Service Reportorial, Secretarial, Data Processor, and Allied Workers (NUPSRAW), an affiliate of the NLC in the state.

The celebration, which was organised by members of the National Union of Public Service Reportorial, Secretarial, Data Processor and Allied Workers (NUPSRAW), was held at the Taula Arena, Gusau, on Saturday evening.

It was attended by thousands of NLC and NUPSRAW members who came from both within and outside the state.

During the occasion, the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) lauded Governor Dauda Lawal for appointing one of its members, Comrade Bukkuyum, as Permanent Secretary.

Speaking at the occasion, the state NLC Chairman, Comrade Sani Haliru, commended Governor Lawal for appointing one of their members as Permanent Secretary and assured that the NLC would continue to give all necessary support and solidarity to his government.

Haliru said “I assure the Governor that Sani Bukkuyum will really deliver in his new assignment as permanent secretary, have trust on us; the new permanent secretary is dedicated, loyal and honest.”

Also speaking, the Commissioner, Ministry of Budget and Planning, Hon. Abdulmalik Abubakar Gajam, represented by the General Manager, Zamfara State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), Umar Nakwada, assured that the staff of the Ministry of Budget and Planning would give maximum support to the new Permanent Secretary in the discharge of his duties.

In his remarks, the Zamfara State Head of Service, Alhaji Yakubu Haidara, said Governor Dauda Lawal was committed to repositioning the civil service for the development of the state.

In their goodwill messages, the National President of NUPSRAW, Northern States Forum of the union, Comrade Y.Y. Yashi, appreciated the Governor’s foresight in appointing one of them as Permanent Secretary.

Also, Sarkin Bauran Dange, Alhaji Bello Usman, and the Emir of Bukkuyum, who was represented by the District Head of Bukkuyum, Alhaji Sagir Junaidu, spoke on the life of the newly appointed Permanent Secretary, Sani Abubakar, describing him as a complete gentleman, dedicated and trustworthy, who followed the footsteps of his late father.
