Is tuberculosis curable?

Published by

I want to know if Tuberculosis is curable.

Adebayo (by SMS)

Yes, tuberculosis (TB) is preventable and curable with a full course of antibiotics, typically lasting 6 to 9 months, but it’s crucial to complete the entire treatment to avoid drug-resistant strains, which are much harder to treat. The key to successful treatment is consistent medication adherence, often supervised by a healthcare worker, as stopping early can make the bacteria stronger and the infection harder to kill. Without treatment, active TB can be fatal.
