Ijebu East LG partners group on rural development

Ijebu Congress, a non-political group, has determined to partner with the Wale Adedayo led-administration in Ijebu East Local Government on rural development in the overall interest of all.

This was disclosed on Wednesday by the chairman of the association, Prince Bunmi Mebude, while on a courtesy visit to Adedayo, at the LG Secretariat, in Ogbere.

Mebude in his remarks noted that Ijebu congress specifically was designed to oversee good governance at all levels of government, especially those concerning the Ijebu nation and more importantly remain a strong advocate for the mass of the people.

He further spoke on the possibility of upgrading the status of the popular Ijebu Imusin market to an international standard, the proposal which he said was already in the pipeline.

The blueprint of the agenda for development set by the group was later handed over to Hon Adedayo.

The chairman in his remarks highlighted few programmes his administration had embarked on since the assumption of office a week ago, which include the ongoing evacuation of refuse in drainages across the council area.

Adedayo assured that the provision of motorable roads, healthcare facilities, employment opportunities, toilet facilities, potable water and a free feeding programme for pupils in the public primary schools in Ijebu East would be cardinal points of his administration.

The council boss equally sought partnership with any serious-minded individuals, organisations and corporate bodies for modernisation and upgrade of Ijebu Imusin market and other markets in the local government area.

“We thank the entire members of Ijebu Congress for the quality brainwork done for Ijebu East Local Government, which was presented to me today.

Be assured that we’ll work on these reports, which covers Security, Agriculture, Healthcare Services and Economic Development among others. We appreciate brainwork in this season of the paucity of funds,” the council boss said.
