My mother, Mrs Jimoh Risikat, passed away at Akobo Ojuirin residence in Ibadan on July 16, 2026, at 7:02 am. Mrs Jimoh Risikat was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Oyomesi Specialist Hospital, Ibadan, on May 19, 2026, after being rushed there in an ambulance. My mother was on oxygen with a nurse attending to her inside the said ambulance vehicle, and the medical team successfully revived her. She was later transferred to the female ward and was recuperating before the medical experts certified her for discharge. Mrs Jimoh Risikat was a trader who risked her life to save mine when I was a child of three years old.
This made me love her deeply. She was so dear to me. I am still in shock over losing such a great, wonderful mother at a time when I needed her most. I was sad when I looked at her face and she couldn’t talk. It is a great loss.
I wish to express my deep gratitude to the Ibadan-based learned silks, lawyers, journalists, and distinguished Nigerians, including the management of the Nigerian Tribune newspaper and Eagle online media platform, for sympathising with me following the passing of my late mother, Mrs Jimoh Risikat. May Allah reward her with Aljanat Fridaous.
