Excitement in Abia as Buhari nominates Connak founder as INEC commissioner

It was mass jubilation in Ohuhuland of Abia North LGA as one of their indigenes, Nnamdi Kenneth Ukeagu, was nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari as INEC National commissioner.

A philanthropist, humanitarian and founder of, Connak Foundation, Nnamdi Kenneth Ukeagu is from Umuegwu-Afugiri, Ohuhu clan in Umuahia North L.G.A of Abia State.

Reacting to the development, a member of the clan, Charles Ukeagu, his younger brother extolled the President over “his lofty vision for the INEC and Nigeria,” adding “President Buhari has made Abia State and the Southeast region proud with the nomination.”

He encouraged Mr Kenneth Ukeagu to “put in his rich experience of civil service aimed at the realization of the goals in the development interests of the Nigerian nation” and to ensure success and personal fulfilment in his new role.

Also expressing his delight, the traditional ruler of Umuosu Nkwoegwu in Ohuhu, His Majesty, Eze Nzenwata Mbakwe said, “We are happy about the nomination.”

“We have been jubilating as our son has risen to that level and thanking the President over the nomination, prayed that Ken Ukeagu will perform well in the new assignment.”

Recall that President Muhammdu Buhari had in a letter which was read out by Senate President Ahmad Lawan, sought Senate confirmation of the nominees for National Commissioners and Resident Electoral Commissioner for INEC, including Kenneth Nnamdi Ukeagu as National Commissioner.
