Eating mango and drinking coke

Published by

I recently read of a warning via social media, that one should never drink aerated beverages such as Coca Cola after eating mangos because the combination of the two can kill you. Kindly help me to clarify the information.

The warning is unfortunately some of the medical junk being peddled on the social media. Apart from the fact that many of us have been consuming mangoes and soft drinks together since childhood without any adverse reaction, there is no scientific evidence that supports the claims that people have died or would die after consuming both products together. There is also no scientific basis to the claim that aerated soft drink and mangos can somehow magically combine to create a deadly poison. The warning should therefore be ignored.
