Antibiotics and cold

Published by

I want to know if it is true that antibiotics are necessary for cold and catarrh

 Linus (by SMS)

Antibiotics won’t help to treat a cold. Viruses cause colds. Antibiotics only treat bacterial infections. They do nothing to viruses. The best way to recover from a cold is with rest, food, water, and paracetamol to make you feel better.

Antibiotics won’t help unless you’ve got underlying bacterial infection.
