Again, gunmen strike in Imo, behead two persons

Two unidentified persons have been beheaded at Okporo Orlu in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State by some yet to be identified persons.

The two family men were said to have gone to sleep on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, peacefully In their houses only for their heads to be found dumped in the middle of the road the next morning.

The thickly populated Okporo Community was instantly thrown into confusion following the bizarre discovery of the two heads that were severed from their trunk and deposited in the middle of the road linking Okporo-Nnempi axis.

A family friend who did not want to be mentioned said that he was with one of the victims in the evening and after taking his supper with his children went to bed.

He said that he was shocked when he was called by a relationship early in the morning that two heads were dumped in the middle of the road.

The source added that on getting to the scene, he met a crowd who were there as they immediately organised themselves to carry out a search for the missing body but to no avail.

The emergency search party, he disclosed, quickly visited the house of one of the victims, where a relation, who pleaded not to be mentioned, said that the assailants, who wore a face mask, carried out the dastardly act, after invading the house around 3.00 am, even as they started shooting sporadically.

The source also said that they heard the voice of the wife of one of the deceased pleading passionately with the assailants to spear the life of her husband but to no avail.

The Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Michael Abraham, when contacted, said that he heard about the incident. adding that the Command had not yet issued any official statement.
