The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command of Nigeria Police Force has conducted a show of force and confidence-building patrol across strategic locations within the FCT metropolis.

According to the Command, the exercise was aimed at boosting public confidence, deterring criminal elements, and demonstrating the Command’s operational readiness to safeguard residents and visitors ahead of the festive season.

In a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday by the Command’s Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the Command stated that: “The patrol covered key locations within the city, including but not limited to Wuse Market, Garki Area 10, Area 1, Garki Modern Market, Durumi, Berger, Maitama, and Mabushi, as part of a deliberate strategy to ensure high police visibility in busy commercial centres, recreational centers, worship centres, residential districts, and major transit corridors.

“The operation was led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Department of Operations, DCP Isyaku Sharu, and featured the deployment of personnel and operational assets to identified flashpoints and public spaces across the metropolis.

“The show of force comes on the heels of the recent joint patrol conducted by the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, with his Kaduna State counterpart along the Jere – Abuja Highway, underscoring sustained inter-command collaboration to strengthen security along critical entry routes into the FCT.”

While assuring residents of adequate and proactive security deployments throughout the festive period, the FCT Police Command calls on members of the public to remain vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious persons, movements, or activities to the nearest police station or via the Command’s emergency lines: 08032003913, 08061581938.
