Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has warned corps members posted to the state against embarking on journeys without official permission from the management of their various places of primary assignment during the yuletide season.
Fayemi also warned them against social vices like cultism, Internet scam, drug peddling, kidnapping, prostitution and robbery capable of destroying their lofty dreams.
The Governor gave the warning on Wednesday at the official closing ceremony of the 2019 Batch C Stream II, orientation course held at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) held at the Permanent Orientation Camp Ise/Orun/Emure Ekiti local government of the state.
Fayemi who was represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sport Developments, Mr Michael Awopetu, Deputy Governor, explained that the NYSC scheme has sustained the dream of its founding fathers in nation-building, integration and unity.

He said: “As you depart this camp to commence the second phase of your national service, I implore you to quickly settle down and be fully integrated into host communities.
“Support the government at the National, state and local government levels in the execution of the various programmes geared towards improving the plight of the members of our rural communities among whom you will be sojourning for the next one year.
“Be wary of journeys you will embark upon this Yuletide period in the best interest of your lives.
Earlier in her address, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Emmanuella Okpongete, congratulated the corps members over the completion of the first phase of their orientation, he stressed the need for them to be focused and
patriotic in rendering selfless services to the sustenance of peace, unity and development of Ekiti State and the country at large.
The Ekiti NYSC coordinator, admonished the corps members to explore keenly the possibility of fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the county and make use the best use of the various skills acquired during the three weeks orientation course.
Okpongete promised that the scheme has concluded plan to reward outstanding performance among the corps members, however, thanked those who have instrumental to the success of the three weeks orientation camp.
She appealed to the employers of the corp members to assist them to settle down promptly by providing accommodation and issue them letters of acceptance to them, saying the move would avoid exposing them to the busy roads during the festive season.
