The Shepherd-in-charge of Celestial Church of Christ, CCC, God With Us Parish, Olodo, Ibadan, Ven/Sup/Evangelist Emmanuel Babatunde Araoola, has admonished women in the country to embrace submissiveness to remain relevant.
He gave the admonition during the award presentation as Peace Ambassador bestowed on him by the Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN), Ibadan Chapter, in collaboration with International Cities of Peace, commemorating this year’s International Women’s Day.
According to him, women must understand that their strength lies in their ability to support and uplift their families and communities through humility and respect.
He stated: “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:22).
He noted that in the quest for progress, they must not forget the foundational values that have sustained their families for generations.
He remarked, “The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands” (Proverbs 14:1), highlighting the vital role women play in nurturing and maintaining family harmony, while suggesting that a woman’s influence is both powerful and significant.
The man of God further highlighted the significant contributions women have made in various sectors, including education, healthcare, and business.
He acknowledged that while women should embrace their roles, they should also seek to blend these with personal aspirations and ambitions.
“A woman who understands her place in the home can also be a leader in her profession,” he noted, reinforcing the idea of balance in fulfilling both familial and professional duties.
The cleric, however, charged the SWAN body to leverage their platform to promote empowerment and education for women.
He urged them to: “champion initiatives that educate women on financial independence and leadership skills.”
Ven/Sup/Evangelist Araoola referenced Proverbs 31:26, which says: “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue,” to support his call for women to be educated and empowered.”
