Mr Thompson Ukeki, on Friday, gave reasons why he and his team are organising the Noodles Cooking Quest Reality TV Show, one of its kind in Nigeria.

He stated this when he and one of his team members, Christina Ojo, visited the staff and management of the African Newspaper of Nigeria(ANN Plc), publisher of the Tribune titles at the Tribune House, Ibadan.

“We are here because we believe in Tribune and the role it plays in the tourism development in not only Nigeria, but Africa as a whole. We believe your media house can add value to this event, ”Ukeki said.

“Our reason for hosting this event in Ibadan is because this is where the entertainment industry began.

“This is the first cooking competition, strictly for noodles,”Christina Ojo, the Project Manager of the event said. “Our society is full of the nudity type of entertainment, but this cooking reality show will bring entertainment, health and nutritional benefits to the youth.”

According to the organisers of the show, the event is targeted at people aged between twelve to thirty years. Auditioning of the show  according to them would be done in sixteen states of the federation, while the grand finale would be in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The show, which would last for three weeks, would be judged by their judges and market women. They stated that the auditioning would begin by September, while the show would begin in October, adding that the event would be sponsored by over six companies including Mary Belt, GOTv, Nestle, and Coca Cola.

Representing the staff and management of ANN Plc, the Advert Manager, Olufemi Adebanjo, said, “We are happy with what you are doing.

We believe in this kind of show because it will add value to the nation. It is not the kind that will abuse our sensibilities, ”he said.

Adebanjo assured the team of the company’s support and also presented them with the first edition of the Nigerian Tribune newspaper published in November 16, 1949.
