Movie producer and broadcaster, Gbenga Akinsanmi has said his latest flick, The Alternative, was produced to discourage Nigerian youths against internet fraud.
Being his first project, Akinsanmi, who is also a banker and blogger said he almost dumped the project following series of challenges he encountered, adding that “I almost left the project when I was faced with issues I couldn’t handle but thank God for good people who saved the day,” he said.
On how he got the inspiration for the movie, the young producer said the script was borne out of his passion to keep encouraging youths to be patient and wait on God’s time. According to him, many youths have gone diabolical because of quick money.
Recalling his experience shooting the movie, Akinsanmi expressed his joy, saying that despite the odds, the project was completed.
Akinsanmi said his acting career started in the church but his broadcasting experience helped him to go into movie-making, adding that his journey into acting started at Femi Adebayo’s J15 School of performing act.
“I actually met Yinka Ayefele’s manager, Prince Aderibigbe, whom I have known since 2009. I told him about my talent and passion for voice over jingle. He introduced me to Femi Solar and I was lucky to work with Femi Adebayo. I was introduced to Ayanfe Adekunle Monsuru when he was an instructor at Femi Adebayo’s J15 School of Performing act.”
Akinsanmi, who marked his birthday on Friday is fast making a name for himself as an actor and movie producer. The actor, who has featured in popular movies such as Yes, Two Side Of A Coin, Monsuru, Jelili, Ahon, When Love Finds You among others disclosed that his new movie would change the narrative in the movie industry.
