“With these computer machines, the Disease Surveillance and Notification Officers (DSNO), should improve on data collection, analysis and transmission in their respective local government areas.

“This chain should be a step ahead in disease surveillance and to effectively curb outbreaks and spread of diseases.”

Dr Umar Ciroma, who received the support on behalf of the state government, urged the local government DSNOs to justify the support through improved data collection and transmission.

“These machines must not be personalized, but used for the purposes they were intended for to improve service delivery,” he said.

Dr Mohammed Isiyaku, State Coordinator, WHO, said; “we now expect improvement in data collection, analysis and transmission from every DSNO in all the local government areas.”
