Some Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the ongoing nationwide protest by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and other aggrieved Nigerian workers and civil organizations.
The protest, which was a result of the aftermath of the removal of fuel subsidy, has continued to generate reactions on social media platforms.
Nigerians on social media are calling on the federal government to immediately address the hardship facing Nigerians due to the removal of fuel subsidies.
Reacting to the protest on Twitter, @still_Ayoola urged President Tinubu to as a matter of urgency find a solution to the current economic hardship in the country.
He wrote, “Dear Tinubu, address the #Protest before it becomes something that might not be controlled easily. Almost all Nigerians are hungry. Do the needful sir 🙏.”
Another user, @ Ianseunalaofin tweeted, “Happy New Month of August is kicking off with a massive #protest. People are really tired of the hardship in the Land.
We really hope that everything that President Tinubu listed on Monday will be accomplished.”
Calling on Nigerians to join the protest, @ AyowoleSanyaolu wrote, “The street is rising, we have moved from agonizing, to organizing, don’t be an onlooker, join the #Protest now.”
“Before you react to the protesters’ actions, THINK! Before you condemn the protesters who pulled down the National Assembly’s gate, THINK! No leader who understands the pains of his people will shut the gate on them when they cry to him for help. @d_problemsolver tweeted.
@therealkingsley wrote, “Citizens are hit with hardship and you don’t want them to go on strike or the NLC to lead a #Protest? Are you okay?”
@estherlnyame wrote, “Well it’s about time. 😩😩💔Because we can’t continue living like this.”
