Isaac Fayose, brother to former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to auction dollars in any individual’s domiciliary account exceeding $1,000.
Fayose described this as a ruthless decision expected of the President in order to tame the issues surrounding volatility of foreign exchange and Naira free fall.
He said this in a video posted on his official Facebook account, saying the President must be ready step on toes by seizing dollars in private accounts, including himself and his brother, Ayodele Fayose, and other former governors exceeding $1,000.
“If you want dollars to come down, just come on Television this week, tell all of us that have domiciliary accounts that if you see more than $1,000 in private, you will seize or auction and replace it with naira,” Fayose charges Tinubu.
“You will tell banks that store dollars in a country of Naira… Even me, auction my money. My brother, auction his own. All the former governors. Anybody that keeps dollars, auction them. Change them to Naira and give them. If they want to store dollars, they should go to America,” he added.
