The University of Benin announced the receipt of N24,412,500 in funds from the Nigerian Education Loans Fund (NELFUND) for the support of 332 students.
The announcement was made via NELFUND Nigeria’s official X account on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
Professor Lilian I. Salami, Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, acknowledged the receipt and expressed gratitude for the significant financial support.
The funds are allocated to cover school charges and upkeep for students who have secured loans under the NELFUND Scheme.

In her statement, Professor Salami conveyed appreciation for the Fund’s commitment to supporting the university’s students.
She highlighted the positive impact this financial assistance will have on their academic progress and commended the Federal Government’s efforts to improve student standards and the quality of tertiary education.
The University of Benin’s management extended their sincere thanks for the support and reaffirmed their high regard for the ongoing contributions of NELFUND.
