The Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has released the admission benchmarks for prospective undergraduates seeking admission for the 2026/2027 academic session, with Nursing Science and Law emerging as the programmes with the highest requirements.
The university, in the approved cut-off marks released on Wednesday, placed Nursing Science at 77.4 for candidates under the general merit category, while catchment candidates are required to attain a minimum score of 74.4.
Law followed closely with a general merit cut-off of 77.1 and 73 for catchment candidates.
Other programmes with high admission thresholds include Radiography and Radiation Science, 74.5; Medical Laboratory Science, 73.8; Common and Islamic Law, 71.3; Accounting, 69; and Mass Communication, 68.7.
Engineering and technology-related courses also recorded relatively high requirements, with Mechatronics Engineering fixed at 66.8, Software Engineering at 66.1, Computer Science at 65.6, Civil Engineering at 64 and Mechanical Engineering at 63.8.
At the lower end of the scale, candidates seeking admission to Mathematics Education are required to score 43, while Christian Religious Studies has a minimum of 47.1 and Wildlife Management 49.8 under the general merit category.
The catchment requirement for each of the three programmes is 40.

The university said the published figures covered 107 undergraduate programmes and contained separate benchmarks for general merit and catchment candidates.
It stressed that meeting a cut-off mark does not automatically guarantee admission, as applicants must also satisfy other academic and regulatory requirements.
UNIOSUN also warned prospective students to be wary of fraudsters claiming to have the ability to secure admission slots or manipulate the admission process.
The institution’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, advised candidates to rely only on information obtained from the university’s official communication channels, including its website and verified social media platforms.
The university cautioned that it would not accept responsibility for financial losses or other consequences suffered by applicants who rely on unauthorised sources, particularly unofficial messages circulated through WhatsApp groups and other social media platforms.
It urged candidates to disregard admission-related claims that cannot be traced to its verified platforms and wished all applicants success in the admission exercise.
