A female student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Oluwakemisola Emmanuel, who once sought public support to fund her education, has successfully graduated with a B.Sc. in Mass Communication.
Oluwakemisola shared her inspiring story on Instagram on Tuesday, recounting her journey through university.
She posted a series of photos documenting her time as a 100-level and 200-level student, as well as her final year when financial challenges compelled her to appeal for assistance.

Her plea resonated with well-wishers, whose contributions enabled her to complete her studies.
To celebrate her achievement, Oluwakemisola shared her graduation photos and expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who played a role in the successful completion of her undergraduate degree.
Captioning the post, she wrote, “Officially a B.Sc. Mass Communication graduate from the University of Lagos! What started in December 2017 has finally come to a beautiful end today. I’m deeply grateful to God for guiding me through this journey and to everyone who supported me financially along the way.”
Tribune Online reports that the institution’s Department of Mass Communication made history by producing 18 all-female first-class graduates for the 2023/2024 academic session.
The remarkable feat was unveiled during the award of first-degree honours at the university’s 55th convocation ceremony, which commenced on Tuesday.
The convocation, spanning three days, will see 16,590 students conferred with degrees and diplomas. Of this number, 9,865 will receive first degrees and diplomas, while 6,659 will be awarded postgraduate degrees. Additionally, 66 students will graduate from the UNILAG Business School (ULBS).
