No fewer than persons were killed in Osogbo, Osun state capital on Friday by some hoodlums believed to be members of a cult group.
The deceased who were killed at the main road of Laro grammar School Area, along OjaOba of the town have their ages range from 21 to 23.
Eyewitness account revealed that the incident happened around 2.00 pm when the members of the cult who came in a bus suddenly pounced on the deceased who came to witness the grand finale of the Osun Osogbo festival held at the grammar school.
It was gathered that, when they sighted the killed victims believed to belong to a rival group, they brought out their cutlasses, guns, and other dangerous weapons to perpetuate the evil, they ensured was carried out without being challenged.
Within a twinkle of an eye after the operation, the informed. Sources hinted that they hurriedly jumped into their bus and disappeared to an unknown place while the blood of the deceased was seen oozing out from their lifeless bodies.
Meanwhile, the development which was said to have disrupted the free-flowing of vehicles while the human movement was also affected as people vanished from the scene immediately, said to have led sympathizers to be discussing the incident in twos and threes.
When our correspondent visited the scene, the lifeless bodies of the deceased were seen being carried away and a security officer simply said, “I wonder while these cultists are killing themselves like this.”
