The immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has alleged that the Federal Government’s interest-free loans to traders known as ‘TraderMoni Scheme’ is “not only an avenue for advanced votes buying but direct re-looting of the Abacha loots.”
Fayose, in a statement on Monday, wondered “the economic sense in the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo leaving Abuja and spending about N25 million on maintenance of presidential jet as well as allowances for himself, aides, protocols, security and others just to share about N10 million.”
In the statement by his aide, Lere Olayinka, Fayose said if the Federal Government was sincere about the TraderMoni, the fund should have been paid into bank accounts of beneficiaries so that the disbursement could be traced and properly audited.
According to him, “when I was governor, more than 20,000 people got N5,000 monthly stipend and the money was paid into their bank accounts.”
The former governor, who is also the South West Coordinator of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council, said Nigerians had already seen through the deceit of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government and will respond appropriately with their votes in 2019.
Fayose said it was even funny that the same President Muhammadu Buhari
who insisted that the late Gen. Sani Abacha never stole was the one taking pride in his government use of a phony TraderMoni scheme to re-loot the $322 million recovered from the loot he (Abacha) stashed in Switzerland.
He said “If not that the TraderMoni was to re-loot the recovered Abacha loot, the proper way was for beneficiaries to be captured biometrically and the N10,000 paid into their bank accounts instead of the Vice President going to the market to share cash.
“Most importantly, there is nowhere that the Vice President will travel to outside Abuja that he won’t spend up to N25 million on his allowances, maintenance of presidential jet and the allowances of his retinue of aides, including security men.
“Therefore, of what economic sense is going to say Kano to share the N10,000 cash to 1,000 people? Isn’t spending N25 million to share N10
million same as being penny wise pound foolish?
“How will the disbursements be audited since there is no record? Why not just take inventory of the beneficiaries, capture them biometrically and pay the money into their accounts so that no one will be able to collect the money twice and in future, the beneficiaries can be traced?”
Fayose, who accused the APC government and its functionaries of hypocrisy, said: “These are the same people that criticized our stomach infrastructure scheme then but are doing the same thing in the wrong way now.”
He said 2019 will be the year Nigerians will be freed from the hypocrisy and deceits of the APC, adding that plans by the party to rig the presidential election will fail.
this DOG is barking again
IDIOT
Fayose is suffering from “LBD” late brain development
Madman
Nonsensical and myopic….
Yes sir…trader moni is criminal act…is vote buying sketch
Because the money is not shared to you, idiot
Fayose need to change direction of is bed
Re-looting of something that is going back to those who own it in the first place? Before you support Fayose’s comment just sit down and think about it. Abacha took our money for himself and his family, Buhari got the money back and decided to share it through trader moni to the poorest of the poor in our society. Just think about it.
Yes, direct re-looting to d masses better than individual looting
Mtchewwww, nonsense.
Like Fayose,like Mama p.same brain
Who is it?
Adebanjo Henry Dimeji why is the money not spent on electricity or power supply instead of wasting it! If we are really really wise! That is what this government should have been thinking about. Not doing arms giving at this time of suffering. No light ?, no good road, no good health facilities and no security. What a shame
Sir how about the #3,000 that was added to civil servant salary before election which was still deducted from their salaries after loosing election. What should we call that?
this trader MONI was budgeted for in the appropriation bill of 2018. The two houses headed by PDP kingpins approved it and it was signed into law. Now the money is being used for the purpose it was meant for,the wailing wailers will not let us rest again. And if the money was not used now, the wailing wailers will still talk that the government is keeping the money for 2019 election campaign . Ebenezer Obey has finished everything in his song.
“Thinking about it”, l came to the conclusion that “tradermoni” delayed till the eve of the election is APC’s “scientific method” of vote buying. Less we forgets, Buhari has severally maintained that Gen. Abacha was never corrupt! How come he’s now receiving “Abacha’s loots”? When will he retract his earlier comments on Abacha? It’s perhaps reasonable to conclude that with Buhari as PTF chairman, that Trust Fund maybe their conduit pipe for financial outward flow; out of the country. That’s what I think!
Fayose tramol enemy of the masses thief
Adebanjo Henry Dimeji I am very happy with the manner APC is buying votes
Diswan still dey?
Arik Ehi I agree with you. The problem is not a lot of people will benefit directly from electricity in the interim considering the hunger in the land.
There are numerous villages where there is no electricity. All I am saying is that the money has come back to those Abacha took it from.
There are social programs in most developed countries. There must be a way to get to the common man faster and better and giving them loans for their micro businesses is a good way to go in my opinion.
Mr. Fayose do they give the collectors condition they most vote for them?
I am very impressed with the manner APC is buying votes because poor and petty traders benefitted from it unlike PDP that were enriching people that had already stolen our Commonwealth
Mr elegbo Lenu ???
Aremo Moyosolaoluwa Joseph, ko sogbon te le da, ko siwa to lewu……
Is any politician answering Fayose and I doubt it because since the little lion fall from the branch of tree we can only hear him screaming and the voice was not all that clear.
Sadly, he is right.
Please I love that vote buying strategy were the poor benefits. This is the only government that is concerned about the poor. I challenge anyone with contrary view to proof me wrong with facts
What of Stomach infrastructure in ekiti state. A pot calling a kettle black.
Goat ewu brain like Fayose
Sam Okirigwe in my opinion it doesn’t matter. I prefer the money to back to the poor for them to invest it in their businesses, than give it to the rich for them to steal it again. That in my opinion is what is called RE-LOOTING.
If you say Trader Moni is vote buying then what do you call stomach infrastructure of ekiti state between 2014- 2018 a pot calling a kettle black.
Dont mind him. He’s the king of waillers!
The truth from an idiot
Notice me still talking
Relooting of abacha loot is called Aluta continues
You are all birds of identical plumage, so you understand the game better than we novices.
Ogbeni go look bush
Adebanjo Henry Dimeji so u mean almost 4years in office is now that apc government understand that Nigerians are hungry and need a help?if I may ask u which business can that money start for u after spoiling our great nation’s economy
Desire Heaviside Buchi you need go smell goat anus to get sense
U are a mad man
What else do you think, original corruption and coni- coni means of embezzlement of Abacha loot.
Egbugwo Iykedan when did Switzerland bring back the Abacha loot?
Equivalent of stomach infrastructure during your days in Ekiti state?????????
Egbugwo Iykedan I am seriously trying to be reasonable with you guys from the east here. I know nothing I say can convince you. It doesn’t matter when they started. All I am concerned about is are Nigerians getting the money for their small businesses? If you answer in the affirmative, then I am good with it.
Go and ask a typical bread, groundnut, kunu, Akara sellers what it cost them to start a business.
Lastly, when was the last time you gave somebody 10K to do something reasonable with their life? When?
Ahhhhhh fayose Is still here?
Let him go to court and challenge the FG or apply for immediate stoppage of the scheme rather than making mockery of himself in the social media.
Pastor Fayose, don’t forget that u looted and bought vote too by street buying of Pomo, Akara and riding on a motorbike.
You’re right Mr fayose, a sensible people shall see it the way you are seeing it. Why ditching out what can’t take good care of your people?@ election period. Shior to trademoni
Is he knowledgeable enough to know that the National assembly approved this program? Shameless one
Abiodun Oni he is not making any sense. Program approved by the National assembly. Maybe you don’t know.
