A 30-year-old trader, Abiodun Anifowose, on Tuesday appeared before an Okitipupa Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ondo State, for allegedly stealing a laptop and phones valued at N230,000.
The defendant, of no fixed address, is standing trial on a two-count charge bordering on felony and stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp. Ayodeji Omoyeigha told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Feb. 2 about 03:58 a.m at No. 4, Adeoye Street in Okitipupa.

He said the defendant stole one HP laptop valued at N140,000 and two Tecno camera phones valued at N90,000, properties of one Victor Idola, Kingsley Awe and Tobi Awe respectively.
The offences contravened Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol.1, Laws of Ondo State 2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Dickson Ogunfuyi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 and a surety in like sum with evidence of one year’s tax clearance.
He adjourned the case until March 26 for further hearing.
