THE Nigerian content policy being promoted by the federal government received a boost at the weekend as some components of TOTAL’s Egina project have been built and installed by a Nigerian firm, TechnipFMC.
The company stated that a total of six manifold modules that were built by TechnipFMC for Total’s Egina project have been successfully installed in the field located offshore Nigeria within Oil Mining Licence (OML)130.
They have been manufactured at the Aveon yard in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
TechnipFMC provides project management, engineering, procurement, and construction for Egina’s entire Subsea Production System (SPS) scope.
Construction began in December 2013 when the first steel cutting took place. The foundations of the manifold modules were then delivered in October 2016 and have been successfully installed.
