Tiwa Savage opens up: I have nothing with Wizkid

Music star, Tiwa Savage, has finally lifted the lid on her cozy relationship with Star Boy, Wizkid, claiming that there was nothing attached to their relationship beyond two music stars and colleagues, who like to entertain the people with good music.

Speaking during an interview on Homerun radio programme on Soundcity radio 98.5 on Thursday, Savage, revealed that there was no time that she had any relationship with Wizkid, even as she added that she was never bothered about some of the comments and insinuations flying on social media suggesting that she was dating Star Boy.

Asked if she was under pressure to reveal the truth about their closeness to the public, the mother of one said she chose to ignore the rumour, adding that “I heard all sorts of stories about Wizkid and I, but I chose to ignore them. “At a point, people said I was dating Humblesmith; later they mentioned another (artiste?). How long will I continue to debunk these rumours. I have been in the music industry for quite a while and I have grown a thick skin, so certain rumours or insinuations don’t get to me again.”

Savage, who was also asked about the state of things between herself and former husband, TeeBlliz, the father of her son, refused to comment on her broken marriage, since “Marriage is a very sensitive matter that I would not want to delve into at this time. Whatever I say now might be taken by the other party in another way. More so, I respect TeeBlliz and our son. I don’t think it is proper to be discussiing this matter on air,” she said.

Speaking on her comaparison with Beyonce, Savage cautioned against comparing her with Beyonce, saying it was wrong for anyone to suggest that she strives to be or act like Beyonce.

“I wish people could stop comparing me to Beyonce. I respect her because she’s about the best female artiste in the world, but I don’t think I want to be like her. I would rather like to be myself. There is no basis for me to be like her or anyone. I don’t know why people think I am obsessed with her. I want to be on my lane and be known as Tiwa Savage, not Beyonce.”
