A 22-year-old tipper driver, identified as Muraina Taiwo, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrates Court for alleged manslaughter.
The accused person was said to have committed the offence on November 16, 2019, at Steel Rolling area, Osogbo.
The accused person was arraigned on a 2 count charge bothering on reckless driving and manslaughter, leading to the death of six persons.
According to Police prosecutor, Inspector Jacob Akintunde, the accused person recklessly drove a Man-Diesel tipper with registration number FST 597 XY without a heavy-duty permit.

He said the accused person drove recklessly in a manner which led to the death of six people namely Suraju Abdusalam, Olayiwola Shittu, Oyesakin Surulere, AbdulLateef Azeez, Alabi Sayo and Kolawole Precious, adding that the offence committed contravened sections 18 and 27 of RTA cap 485 Laws of Federation of Nigeria.
However, the accused person pleaded not guilty to the alleged offences, just as the defence counsel, Barrister Taiwo Awokunle prayed the court to grant the accused person bail in the most liberal terms.
Presiding Magistrate Taofeek Badmus granted the accused person bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties, affidavit of means, and three passport photographs.
The case was adjourned to January 17, 2020, for mention.
