Tinubu will get massive Northern votes in 2027, says Badaru

The Director-General of Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A), Alhaji Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure massive votes from Northern Nigeria in the 2027 presidential election, saying no amount of aspersion cast against him will truncate his second-term bid.

Badaru, a former Minister of Defence and former Governor of Jigawa State, stated this on Wednesday in Kano while unveiling 528 youth ambassadors to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Badaru explained that the newly inaugurated ambassadors would mobilise support for Tinubu across Kano State’s 44 local government areas and 484 wards.

He said their responsibility would be to educate residents about the administration’s achievements, particularly its infrastructure projects and human empowerment programmes, to secure more votes for the President.

“We don’t need propaganda for this campaign. What we are selling is what the administration has done for the Northern region, and we are going to showcase these projects and human empowerment initiatives to garner votes for him,” he said.

The former minister added that the campaign would focus on presenting the administration’s achievements to voters rather than relying on political rhetoric.

He expressed satisfaction with the turnout of young people at the event, describing their participation as a positive indication of the President’s growing acceptance and electoral prospects in the region.

According to him, youths remain critical to electoral success, adding that their enthusiasm and willingness to participate in the campaign have strengthened his confidence in Tinubu’s chances in 2027.

“The hundreds of happy youths who came out for this programme give us much greater hope, apart from the fact that we already know that the North stands firmly with the President,” he said.

Speaking at the event, the Kano State Coordinator of A4A and former Minister of State for Housing, Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo, said the youth ambassadors were carefully selected based on their integrity and suitability for the campaign.

Gwarzo explained that the initiative was designed to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and ensure that the achievements of the Tinubu administration across Northern Nigeria were effectively communicated to residents.

He said the ambassadors would highlight the administration’s projects and programmes to convince voters that Tinubu deserved another term in office.

According to him, the campaign structure would extend beyond the 528 ambassadors, with additional support agents to be deployed across wards to strengthen mobilisation at the grassroots.

“These ambassadors are going to have other supporting agents at every ward who will guide polling units to ensure that what was given to our President is what we get,” Gwarzo said.

He added that the arrangement was also intended to promote orderly electoral participation and strengthen the campaign’s presence at the polling-unit level.

Badaru further disclosed that A4A would soon inaugurate its Abuja office, alongside other liaison offices across the country, as part of efforts to expand its national mobilisation network ahead of the 2027 general elections.
