The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Labour, Employment, and Productivity, Senator Diket Plang, has stated that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration is leaving no stone unturned to reposition Nigeria’s economy and ensure good governance.
Senator Plang, who described President Tinubu as a round peg in a round hole, said the president is today among the living legends in the country who understand the dynamic of governance and are doing all they can to salvage the country and make it a better country.
“When it comes to governance, President Tinubu is not a novice; he has experiences that cut across many disciplines and political careers. He was an accountant, a sound federal lawmaker, and a one-time governor of Lagos State, where his achievements are still noticeable. All we need to do is to support his policies of transformation.”
The senator who stated this in an interview with newsmen in Jos, Plateau State, called on Nigerians to support the government’s efforts, emphasising that their cooperation is crucial for the successful implementation of the 2025 budget.

He said the signed N54.99 trillion budget into law marked a significant milestone in the country’s fiscal year, adding that the budget’s effective execution depends largely on public support and collaboration.
According to him, the budget prioritises critical sectors such as security, human capital, and infrastructure development, which will directly impact citizens’ lives, adding that the budget aligns with the administration’s strategic priorities, particularly in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda and achieving its developmental objectives.
He commended the president’s efforts in presenting a comprehensive budget that addresses key areas, including defence, infrastructure, health, and education.
Plang mentioned that the budget captured human capital and infrastructure development, adding that it equally involved the allocation of funds for the construction of a six-lane road linking Akwanga, Jos, and Gombe, a route that has been in a state of disrepair for years.
He acknowledged the country’s challenges but expressed confidence in the administration’s ability to tackle them through strategic investments and policy implementation.
“With the provisions in the 2025 budget, I believe we are on the right path as a country. This is an opportunity for Nigeria to push its development agenda forward.
“We are at a point where everyone should contribute to making Nigeria better, and I believe that with the support of every citizen, the 2025 budget will address the needs of all Nigerians,” the senator said.
When asked about the budget’s potential impact on his constituents, Plang assured that allocations for critical sectors would have a positive trickle-down effect, improving the lives of Nigerians, including those in Plateau Central.
He pledged to work closely with his colleagues in the National Assembly to ensure the effective implementation of the budget and its programs.
