Tegbe’s giant stride

Published by

Ibadan-born politician and founder of Tegbe Foundation, Mr Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, since joining the gubernatorial race in Oyo State, has brewed fresh air into the contest.

Despite the fact that others have chosen to make the race a steeplechase, Tegbe, as he is fondly called, has chosen a unique way to approach the audience both within the party and the larger electorate.

A former partner and Head of the Technology Advisory practice of KPMG in Nigeria, with deep experience in servicing various clients across the public and private sectors of the economy, he knows without being told that ICT holds the ace and that youths are the best choice of any government, hence his counsel to them during the 2018 United Nations World Youth Day.

He urged the youth of Oyo State to focus on innovative ways of solving problems around them in order to deliver economic value in technology-driven world.

Simply put, Tegbe charged them that “Great countries make long-term, inclusive plans that lead to the growth, development and success of the nation and Governor Abiola Ajimobi has laid the foundation for the modern Oyo State. It’s therefore important to consolidate on these gains and accelerate growth in the state. Youths are paramount in this journey, and you must, therefore, select and subsequently demand that leaders at all levels provide an enabling environment for your learning and prosperity.

“Our country and state require visionary leaders that will create an environment for the ingenuity of youths to thrive and deliver the dividends of democracy to all.

“I am committed to playing a crucial role on this journey by developing the ICT potential in Oyo State. I promise to pursue and advocate for policies that will help deliver the infrastructure required to implement the broadbrand blueprint I have assisted in developing for Nigeria which has greatly helped internet penetration.

“so, I encourage all youths of Oyo State to identify the unique value you can offer the society and hone that skill or habit so you can cultivate to help make your family, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole proud. For those who are ready to come on board and stay the course, I assure you that there is tremendous potential here in Oyo State, and we have what it takes to achieve more.”
