Leader of the Apex Yoruba Self-Determination Group, Ilana Omo Oodua, Prof Banji Akintoye, has expressed shock over the sudden passing of the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet T.B Joshua, describing the exit as a great loss to the Yoruba nation.
Akintoye said this on Sunday in a statement made available to newsmen by his Communications Manager, Mr Maxwell Adeleye, describing the late Joshua as a great servant of God with outreaches touching most parts of the world and bringing charity to the needy everywhere.
“The sudden passing of Prophet TB Joshua is a shock to me personally and a great loss to the Yoruba nation.
“He was a credibly great servant of God with outreaches touching most parts of the world and bringing charity to the needy everywhere, including to his people in the Akoko Area of Ondo State.
“In many countries across the world, people watch his ministry on TV as he brings his gospel message with hope and joy,” the renowned historian said.
Akintoye, who is also the Second Republic senator, while noting that the Yoruba nation would miss him greatly, praying God to accept his soul into the joy of heaven.
The elder statesman sympathised very deeply with members of his church and prayed that God will continue to sustain them, even as he also prayed God to strengthen the family he left behind.
“His people will miss him greatly. We all pray that God will accept him into the joy of heaven.
“I sympathise very deeply with members of his church and I pray that may God continue to sustain them. I pray for strength for his young family, too,” Akintoye said.
