Suspected ritualists kill Septuagenarian in Ondo

A 70-year-old woman, Sidikat Jimoh, was in the early hours of Monday murdered by some suspected ritualists, who removed her vital organs in Ogbagi-Akoko in Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

It was gathered that the woman was found in the pool of her blood in her residence around Ayetoro area of the town very early in the morning.

According to an eyewitness, the assailants, after removing vital parts from the woman, also tried to set her remains ablaze, but had to leave in a hurry, leaving behind some of the organs removed from their victim.

The Area Commander for Ikare, ACP Razak Rauf, who confirmed the incident, said policemen from the town immediately swung into action upon receipt of the information.

He said no arrest had been made but an investigation had commenced into the killing.
