Supreme Court verdict: Adesiyan congratulates Oyetola

Former Police Affairs Minister, Alhaji Abdul Jelili Adesiyan has joined thousands of Osun State indigene to congratulate Osun State governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, over Friday’s Supreme Court judgement.

He described the ruling as a victory for Osun indigene and All Progressive Congress (APC) in particular.

The former Commissioner for Education in Osun State, in a statement signed by himself, said Oyetola is a man of character and competence to lead Osun State citizen.

He charged the opposition party in the state to put the past behind them and work as a good opposition to move the state forward.

He said “I have to use this occasion to Congratulate the people of Osun state and most importantly Governor Oyetola and his deputy and indeed the entire APC family in Osun state over the Victory of Governor Oyetola in the just delivered judgement at the supreme court.

“Like I kept telling those who care to listen, it is not about  PDP or APC, it is about the competence of the character of the person to administer our dear state. It is about meritocracy as against mediocrity. The Victory is for our people in Osun state, and a big lesson to be learnt by our youth, that education breeds competence and good manners that are sin-qua-nor to good government and leadership.

“I admonish the Government to take the welfare of the people seriously particularly the pensioners and workers in Osun state as they were the machine that pulls the progress of Osun state forward. I trust Governor  Oyetola to bring the best to our dear state.

“Also I want to congratulate the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for providing a helping hand to have the best for our people. Your coalition with APC was timely and a good decision by your leadership., this was borne out of patriotism rather than political sentiment.

“To my friend in PDP, let us endeavour to always put a round peg in a round hole, I wish you all the best.”
