A human rights group, Coalition in Defence of Nigerian Democracy and Constitution, on Thursday, charged the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to speak truth to power and prevail on President Muhammadu Buhari to stop the disobedience of court orders and attacks on fundamental human rights.
Convener of the group, Ariyo-Dare Atoye, who gave this advice in a statement made available to the Tribune Online in Abuja, further urged Tinubu to have a rethink and side with the oppressed if he wants history to be kind to him as a democrat.

The group said, as a former NADECO chieftain, it found it very troubling that the former Lagos State governor has elected to side with tyranny when activists like Omoyele Sowore and Agba Jalingo are languishing in jail.
It stated that instead of Tinubu speaking truth to power and prevailing on Buhari to stop the disobedience of court orders, attacks on fundamental human rights and the exploitation of the common man, he had consistently chosen to attack perceived enemies to please those who have little or no regard for all he did to help them to power.
According to the group: “It has become pertinent to tell Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu stop distracting Nigerians with unfounded issues, anytime there is rising criticism and condemnation of the Buhari regime.
“It is also curious and distasteful to see Asiwaju siding with the 9th National Assembly, an arm of government which has decided to gag everyone in the country with draconian bills, under the guise of attacking Bukola Saraki and the leadership of the 8th National Assembly,
“The current ordeal of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in the hands of the cabal and the troubling experience of the Chairman of Police Service Commission, Musiliu Smith, over the police recruitment saga, should send the right signal to Tinubu and his Southwest folks that they are nothing more than Pawns in the Buhari regime” it stressed.
