Shina Peller inaugurates SAEP office

A member of the House of Representatives-elect in Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency area of Oyo State, Honourable Shina Abiola Peller on Thursday commissioned Shina Ayo Empowerment Programme (SAEP) office in Iseyin.

Peller said the programme was part of his electioneering campaign saying it will go along way to create jobs for the unemployed youth.

He solicited the support of his people to conquer many challenges confronting the constituency and vowed to provide the needed solutions that will bring about the desired change to his constituency.

While emphasising support for the elderly people from age 70 and above with stipends and healthcare monitoring and management, Peller said many more projects would be added to those he earlier donated like the 16 boreholes; construction of a Science Laboratory and Modern Library to Ansarudeen Grammar School, Iseyin and the donation of a fully equipped modern female hostel to the National Youth Service Corp in Oyo State which was commissioned few weeks ago.

He said “No doubt, as a people we are set upon a path of continuity in progress and delivering on the dividends of democracy which will be the hallmark of my tenure.

“The Shina Ayo Empowerment Programme Head Office and my Constituency Office will

be the main contact point for all my people even as we plan for representative offices in each of the local governments within the constituency.

“The SAEP aims to empower individuals in skills acquisition and empowerment in vocational training. It will provide a rural banking scheme in partnership with Sterling Bank. The youth will undergo training in multiple vocations such as agriculture, information technology, fashion, catering, technology acquisition and many other strategic vocations.

“Coming from a background in business, I’m aware that this structure we are putting in place needs to be sustained. Therefore, the empowerment program will work with investors and developmental partners to implement several programs which would stimulate economic development.

“We will invest in Agriculture and agro-allied industries as we must add value to our raw materials. We will invest in manufacturing/assembling as I am already working to bring a factory to our constituency where slippers, shoes, sandals and leather products will be manufactured locally using our raw materials. Instead of operating on the common consumption ideology that everyone is used to, the blueprint on the ground is for our constituency to stand out by becoming a production base and in the long run, look at ways of exporting from here to other parts of the world,” he said.

Earlier in his remark, the Yobe State Governor-elect, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni described the office commissioning as a watershed event, especially when the 9th National Assembly yet to take-off, Peller has been doing community development.

Buni who doubles as the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress said, “We are happy to be part of this historic occasion. Shina Ayo Peller is a man of good character, leader, a man of peace and he has shown that he will be a good representative when the house takes off in June. I am happy for the people of this area that you are indeed blessed with his electoral victory.”

Present at the event includes, Aseyin of Iseyin Land, His Royal Highness, Dr Abdul Ganiy Adegunle Salaudeen, Oloogunebi Ajinese 1 and over 50 newly-elected members of the House of Representatives comprises from Oyo, Osun, Imo, Kaduna, Adamawa, Lagos, Ekiti, Niger Zamfara, Anambra State among others.
