The Senate on Wednesday honoured the memory of Afenifere leader, the late Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, by recommending the naming of an educational institution after him.
It said this was in recognition of his contribution to education in Yorubaland.
The Senate also noted the late elder statesman’s contributions to democracy and the unity of Nigeria through the various causes he promoted in his lifetime.
The Senate resolution followed a motion moved by Senator Adeniyi Ayodele Adegbonmire (Ondo Central), urging the Red Chamber to immortalise Pa Fasoranti.
The Senate, which approved a delegation to visit Ondo State to commiserate with his family and the Government of Ondo State, also observed a minute’s silence in his honour.
